As thrillers go this is above average. Apt, the premise is a “been there, done that” sort of thing with a romance between the detective and the potential victim with a serial killer in the shadows, etc. However there is unbiased enough originality here added to solid performances by the stars to get it worthwhile.

Aidan Quinn (no relation to Anthony) plays a cute and quirky detective in the Windy City on the budge of a budding serial killer. Madeleine Stowe is a blue grass/Irish violinist blind since she was eight. As the movie opens she is about to come by cornea transplants, and before long she can gaze, sort of, which is distinguished since she has become a watch to kill. Some of what she sees are flashbacks to the day before, which makes her a plight eye for the police. Some other flashbacks are to when her mother smashed her face into a mirror for playing with her make-up. How sick is that? I presume this was dreamed up by Dana Stevens, who gets credit for the script, which is a kind of mishmash of clever lines and shlock dialogue as though two different people (or half a dozen) wrote it.

Michael Apted’s direction is not inspired although it isn’t all that terrible either. But he doesn’t build the serial killer’s personality, and so the weirdo’s motivation seems a bit of a stretch. Also undeveloped is the doctor whose like for Stowe is unrequited. The main thing is the erotic chemistry between Stowe and Quinn, and the personality of Stowe’s character, which is new and the best thing in the movie. I contemplate this would have received a better reception had Quinn’s character fallen in madly in adore with the violinist. As it plays, we are not clear whether he really cares or not.

Madeleine Stowe is sexy and does a marvelous job in a demanding role, probably the most demanding of her modest career. Discover it for her.

A gleaming performance from Madeline Stowe elevates BLINK in an otherwise dumb gripping, at times muddled, movie. Stowe plays a blind violinist who receives a corneal transplant that results in her having delayed perceptions, that is seeing things that may have happened a day or so before. This involves her in the cancel of a young woman who lives above her, and ultimately brings her to meet Aidan Quinn, an egotistical young detective, who is assigned to the case, and ultimately ends up falling in appreciate with her.

Michael Apted’s direction sometimes gets in the intention of factual suspense, the middle of the movie seeming to unimaginative down, and the killings recall second dwelling to the admire affair. A red herring is thrown in and you might swallow it, but the identity of the killer once revealed may near as a surprise.

Stowe and Quinn have a obedient chemistry and proper abet comes from James Remar and Peter Friedman, but it is Madeleine’s friendly performance that enlightens this film.

I purchased the soundtrack when this movie came out in 1984, but I never really saw the complete movie. When it was on TV, I always seemed to gather the last half-hour. Luckily, I was able to glean a current VHS copy, and I must say it’s one of my favourite movies in my collection. It stars Lucinda Dickey as an up & coming dancer who befriends two breakdancers (Adolpho Quinones & Michael Chambers) who fight for the respect of the dance community to salvage wreck dancing taken as a serious art create. The soundtrack is composed ample after all of these years, and the account is total ’80s “breakploitation”. Even though it has been criticized for being total trash, and plagued with awful acting, honest remember that this movie was the starting vehicle for all the actors eager. I never found the acting THAT Unpleasant. It’s a movie that will WOW you with solid jams, and hype mid-’80s fashion, plus lots of high energy breakdancing and other forms of original dance that compose the film piquant & moving. I was lucky to rep a unique VHS copy of this movie, but it would be nice if it was available on DVD in North America. In conclusion, if you really like ’80s movies, then this one will not disappoint.

Do not rent or choose this movie if you are looking for a movie with a strong place line or decent acting. Both of these items are elegant noteworthy nonexistent.

There is really no sense in trying to justify the station line to this movie, mainly because it only takes up about 20 minutes of this 86-minute movie. The rest of the movie involves the characters dancing (mostly shatter dancing to be right) . To be impartial, the sage actually gets in the procedure of the dancing (never belief I would say that about a movie) .

Okay, if the sage line isn’t worth talking about and the acting is splendid noteworthy non-existent, then why the 4-star rating? Because of the dancing. This is one of those movies where the account and the acting don’t really matter. For those of us with no dance talent, these dance moves will leave your mouth wide launch. And any movie that can successfully do that is worth a high rating.
